I MADE This Background!

I made this background! I'm soooo excited! Now I can make backgrounds for me, my family, and friends!
Here we go!
1. Open a paint program (I use http://www.paint.net/ it's free!)
2. Go to File on the top left of the screen and select "new"
OR go to Image then resize it
3. Make it 14.50 inches wide, 11.00 inches long, and 100.00 pixels/inch
you may need to un check Maintain Aspect Ratio
4. If you want to use a picture like I did:
go to Layers then click import from file
Select your picture and stretch it out to where it covers the whole white area
5. Click view and select rulers
on the top left of the tool bar there's a square, select it
make a rectangle that goes from 3 1/2 inches to 11 inches and from top to bottom
pick the color that yow would like it to be and use the paint bucket fill in the rectangle
you can make it transparent by selecting view on colors and adjusting the transparency
you can undo thing if you don't like the way it looks or if you just mess up
6. Select Save the picture as... and save it somewhere that you can find it
make shore that you save it as a JEPG
a window will pop up but just click ok
7. got to http://photobucket.com/ and sign up if you don't have one
upload an image and reduce it to 1 Mega pixel
8. Once your background uploads, you'll find it down with your other images, and you need to copy the option direct link
9. Follow these specific instructions as to how to apply it to your blog:
Log in to your blog.
Next go to ‚customize, then ‚layout‚ then ‚pick a new template‚ then choose a minima template.
Then click on ‚edit HTML‚ You'll see a crazy code with a bunch of funny signs, scroll to where you see this:
body
{background:$bgcolor;margin:0; color:$textcolor; font:x-small Georgia Serif; font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small; text-align: center;
Change that part of the code to say this:
body
{background:$bgcolor;background-image:url('direct link goes here');background-position: center; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed;margin:0; color:$textcolor; font:x-small Georgia Serif; font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small; text-align: center;
Now, use the direct link from your photobucket image and insert it between the parentheses. Then Click SAVE!
If you have any trouble just email or or comment and I'll be glad to help!
